Jason Tschimperle is an artist, writer and wellness practitioner based in Longbeach WA. He currently runs a wellness and education center in a 54' Boles Aero vintage travel trailer on the Washington coast at Sou'wester Lodge.

In his spare time he finds peace in drawing as part of his zen practice, reflecting on the the things he connects with - the mountains, ocean, fungi, vultures, feminism, darkness and color.

His drawing has become a process of self-realization, allowing for imperfection and freedom. This series envisions a post-apocalyptic fleeing to the natural world in order to learn from fungi how to both live without sunlight and to gather resources in the aftermath of a catastrophe.

Jason's work will be on display and available for purchase at the xobruno shop for the month of October with an opening reception on Friday Oct. 6th from 5-8pm.

All proceeds to the artist. Hope to see you for First Friday at the 811 building!

Meanwhile, it's the last week to see the wonderful work of Portland artist Cameron Hawkey. We're going to miss having this work on the wall, which is part of a series of drawings describing life within the Urban Growth Boundary of Portland.
